Sheek Louch

Day 26

Sheek Louch- Silver Back Gorilla

Rating 4.5/5

Whoever thinks the Lox are washed up and New York has fallen off then think again. Sheek returns with his 3rd installment, "Silver Back Gorilla". This time Sheek has found his voice. His flow his solid. Production is poingnant. Not to mention having a few guest features like The Game, Jadakiss, Dipset, Styles P and Bun B, you know theres alot of heavy spitting going on.

The gap is officially bridged from North, West, East and South on "Think We Got A Problem." The Game delivers a ground shaking verse as he claims "Think we got a problem, Sheek knows I'm hot/ Kiss and Styles should make me a member of The Lox". Game also goes on to say that his "speakers are kicking like Beckham". Sheek and Bun B also hold fort with there slick 16's.

The hook is like one of many anthems you will hear on this record. Dipset stopped through to trade lyrics with the D Block boys. Hearing the back and forth was reminiscent of when Onyx and WuTang delivered "The Worst", 10 years ago. "Getting Stronger" and "We Spray Crowds" are not only anthems but have that Ruff Ryder sound we have been missing.

Metaphor to melody Sheek has show n proved this time around to be one of New Yorks top dogs. Fat Joe stopped by for "Rubber Grip" and brought another Lil Weezy impersonation to the table. Even that couldn't save him from Sheek and Style's raw spit.

It's not all anthems and anger on "Silver Back Gorilla". Sheek is vocal and delivers an inspiring message on "Keep Pushing" and "Don't Be Them". On "Keep Pushing" its high energy and vivid as Sheek story tells like Rick The Ruler. On the other hand "Don't Be Them" is the big brother talk that most of our youth need today. The agenda of that track is to raise self confidence in our youth and tell them to stop acting like celebs. Just "be yourself, cause you that kid" states Sheek.

Sheek not only surprised the hell out of anyone that bought this album but he also delivered a summer time sizzle any consumer still willing to buy a cd would appreciate. The album could have done without some of the low budget skits and a verse from Unk. But even with those blemishes this album is hotter then any Jadakiss work to date. With real life songs with a message, club bangers, hood shit, and more anthems then DJ Khaled could dream about ..... what else can you ask for? If this is a jungle Sheek is the "Silver Back Gorilla".
