2PAC - PACS LIFE

Monday - March 19, 2007

Its been over 10 years since the most controversial hiphop icon of all time passed. It's sad that his vocals have been placed on industry throw out beats.”Pacs Life” starts off on the wrong foot. The Swizz Beats Produced “UNTOUCHABLE” doesn’t mesh at all.Not to mention the beat sounds like it would be a great background for a Mission Impossible video game. The albums title track “Pacs Life” with TI and Ashanti surprisingly are presentable and prolong Thug Life yet another year.3’s a charm and the 3rd song in “Dumpin” sounds like Pac was really in the studio with Papoose,Carl Thomas, and Fatal. Pac’s verse “Murderous Mindstate, can’t keep my nine strait/sippin on this Hennessey waiting for the time to break/” will send chills up and down your spine.Papoose and Fatal deliver some intriguing bars and Carl Thomas with a Wyclef kinda sound on the hook make this one incredible. ”Playa Cards Right” has a male and female version which are both great contributions to “Pacs Life”. Keyshia Cole and Ludacris show more then respect for the G.O.A.T. on “Playa Cards Right”
In most cases the fans want the vintage unreleased 2pac songs on his previous beats and “Soon As I get Home” leaves Pac on the original Qd3 beat and proves over 10 years later everything is still relevant. Songs like “International” and “Whats Next” just don’t make sense and neither do the collaborations Amaru records teamed with Pac.All in all Makaveli lives on through “Pacs Life”.Dispite the mismatch production Pac’s passion and vocals are still energetic and inspirational. Pac will always shine through.
