JON CONNOR INTERVIEW RapCapital.com: Wassup Jon Connor, As most probably have been wondering is Jon Connor your birth name or simply just a rap name? Also what made you want to
pursue a career in Rap? Jon Connor: Well it’s a mixture of both. My government name is Jon Freeman. The Connor comes from the character in The Terminator films who saves the future. I took that as a metaphor for me and the music industry because I am saving the future of the music industry. As for pursuing a career in rap, I always had a need to be heard and I always had a love for music, its my passion. I don’t look at it as pursuing a career, its what I was born to do. RapCapital.com: How hard is it to transition from rapper, producer, ghost writer, beat maker, R&B song creator and a Co-CEO. Does it all balance out for you? Jon Connor: Its not hard at all. It definitely balances out because each of those roles play a part into the next. Besides, I love doing music, sometimes I don’t realize that I have that many titles until they are written on paper. RapCapital.com: Who are some artists you've worked with over the years, and who would you like to collaborate with? Jon Connor: Well of course the artist on my label, Avie Squad, such as Link & Mali, J-Swift, and D.I.Z. I have also worked with Mavelle, who is an amazingly talented, up and coming R&B singer from Connecticut, Caveman Theory, an underground group based out of Florida, and the two illest producers I’ve ever worked with, E-Rude and K-Wills. Main Event, we just finished working on a track for his album. Big shots out to Crown Black, another up and coming group out of Flint that I’ve worked with. In the future there are a couple of people I would like to collab with. The Game, Kanye West, Cool and Dre, India Arie, Timbaland, and Seal. RapCapital.com: Writing your first rhyme at 10, how did it feel, and did you have any
help? Jon Connor: No, I didn’t have any help and it felt crazy because I was writing without a cause, I didn’t have any direction. RapCapital.com: Who are some of your influences in the game?
Jon Connor: I’ll split it up into two categories: rapping and producing. With rapping Tupac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, The Lox, Eminem, DMX, Soulja Slim, and Pun… I’m just inspired by real lyricism. As far as producing goes, Kanye, Timbaland, Beats by the Pound, Just Blaze, Mannie Fresh, and my dogs E-Rude and K-Wills.RapCapital.com: What LP's would we see in your CD player right now?
Jon Connor: DMX: It’s Dark and Hell is Hot, Nas: It Was Written and I Am, Seal: Seal, Kanye West: The College Dropout, Makaveli: The Seven Day Theory, Common: Be, Soulja Slim: The Streets Made Me, and The Notorious B. I. G: Life after Death.

RapCapital.com: How was it to shoot your movie for the first time, what is the difference from Videos and Movies in your opinion?
