Dre Parker Interview


 

Today we are gonna kick it with a jack of all trades.If you are in the New York region chances are you may have seen Dre Parker or heard his music under the name G Supreme. Also the Dre Parker Show ,an independent online radio show, is creating a slow burn and turning into something promising for internet entertaintment.Lets do this!!

Dre whats poppin ...I cant lie fam ..I heard your clips on 98.7 and saw yourtube flicks from various shows and you had me dieing man ...... Is it harder for you to get up on stage and perform music or comedy?

dre: its not hard getting on stage to do it, but music is harder. because if you forget something in music its harder to recover. you can pause longer doing comedy.

Let the fans know where you are reppin?

dre: brooklyn!! east ny son

Does doing both things make you a less credible comedian or emcee in some peoples eyes or does it help?

dre: well i think.....well i "know" some people are mad cause they can't do more than one thing. i also produce,
act,write, edit and shoot video.

Whats next on your plate?Any shows or albums coming?

dre: i will be doing a show with my comedy fam "the nack pack" at the victoria manor aug 17th. in edison nj. far as music goes, my album "Preme Being" will drop the end of the year, right after the "mental-men" album "eve of a next revolution" with my dude pessimist.

What would you rather do Music,Radio, or comedy?

dre: i'm doing what i rather do...i do it all!

How did you get into Comedy?

dre: my family is nuts!.. in more than one way and i always wanted to do it. one day kiss fm had a contest, so i called up, did a 60 sec bit and beat my competition.

Who are your influences?

dre: in comedy...eddie murphy, richard pryor, bernie mac, chris rock. in music...krs one, pe,..oh and my dude nyoil!..we got a song together thats on my lp.

How did you kick off the Dre Parker Show?

dre:everybody wanted me on their radio show, a lot of them where not taking it serious enough, so i decided to do my own show.

How would you describe G Supremes style?

dre: real..for real!...in other words, the way you should do and say things and not just whats "cool".

What was the best year in your opinion for HipHop?

dre;it has not happened yet!...but i like the mid 90's

Do you think hiphop has fell off?

dre: no...the people doing hip hop fell off. thats like asking "did the planet earth fall off"?...no..the people here is slacking.

If you think it has what is the remedy to fix it in your opinion?

dre:me!...and put out more good music to saturate some of the bull..lol..

Do you have any references to the present hiphop climate in your stage act ?

dre: yep....i'm not 50 cent, i'm trying to "get rich or live broke"..not trying to die in the proccess...you gotta live to try to get rich another day.

Who were some of your most memorable guests on the Dre Parker Show?

dre: kyle grooms (chappelle show) roz (last comic standing) chip fu (fu shcnikens) and bernnadete stanis (thelma from goodtimes)

Doing comedy is a whole different world ..have you ever had any bad experiences?

dre: hell yeah...the host was in a weelchair, and he tried to make the audience boo me!..but it didn't work..haha..
actually we are cool now.

What was the best experience?

dre: working with the nack pack for the first time.
