DJ BEDTYME INTERVIEW

Whats good Bedtyme? First off on behalf of the whole RapCapital.com we want to say that we respect what you're doing for Hiphop.
The last few Mix CD's you have dropped have been real! street! and straight hiphop... It seems nowadays that's hard to come by.

RapCapital.com: What new projects are in the works for you??

DJ Bedtyme: Right now, expanding the independant distribution situtation we have going on (Project Co-Sign) and in the studio working on my next 2 mixtapes.

RapCapital.com: Can you tell us some of the artists you have worked with and currently are?

DJ Bedtyme: I have to mention the Queen of NY, Remy Ma. My dude Prodigy of Mobb Deep is scheduled to host my next mixtape, Donell Jones, Heather Hunter, Posta Boy, AZ, Paul Wall, The Dayton Family, Guru (Gangstarr), CL Smooth, Ras Kass, Jin, Sha Stimuli, Serius Jones, Amanda Diva (MTV2), just to name a few. Currently on the unsigned level, I'm working closely with my dude Sicosyrus and the whole Project Co-Sign team (Nina B, Esso, The Regulator Family, Big Lou, Lace Stonze, P.A.T, Gage (DTF) and Doe Snatcha).

RapCapital.com: We hear you did your thing at Summer Jam wit Remy... What was that like?

DJ Bedtyme: Incredible! I've always heard about Summer Jam and never actually been to one. So for me to experience Summer Jam for the first time as a performer... It was off the cookie jar.

RapCapital.com: Favorite 3 artists of all time?

DJ Bedtyme: The Isley Brothers, 2 Pac & Alicia Keyes

RapCapital.com: Favorite Movie?

DJ Bedtyme: Dumb & Dumber

RapCapital.com: In your opinion is Hiphop at its prime or decline?

DJ Bedtyme: Decline, for sure. I say that because there is little to no originality in the rap game right now.

RapCapital.com: How do you feel about Nas titling his upcoming album "Hiphop is dead"?

DJ Bedtyme: I can't wait until it's released, so I can purchase 2 copies. Nas calls himself God's son, who's messing with that?

RapCapital.com: Coming up who had more impact on you....Biggie or Pac?

DJ Bedtyme: Pac without question. No disrespect to Biggie because I respect his music, but I felt like I was learning something from Pac. His lyrical content explained things differently and "Wonder Why They Call You B*tch" is the hottest song ever made.

RapCapital: What new underground artists are you feeling the most right now?

DJ Bedtyme: Esso, Gage (DTF), The Rounderz, Faceoff, Nina B, P.A.T, Torae, Sicosyrus, Lace Stonze and Doe Snatcha. There are more, but right now those are the ones I have my money on.

RapCapital: How did you get your start DJing?

DJ Bedtyme: Big shout out to my brother Chuck Massacure, he is the reason I started djing. I was handling the management side of things at first and he was the DJ, but when he started working later hours and we accepted those deposits... someone had to be there for the contracted time. I started the parties until he got there, but people started requesting me and the transition was made.

RapCapital: In 5 years from now what would you like to have accomplished?

DJ Bedtyme: Obtaining a nationally syndicated radio show and providing a larger outlet for undeground/unsigned artists to showcase their music.

RapCapital: One thing I feel rapcapital and yourself have in common is we shed light on new upcoming breaking artists....we also featured Tha Advocate before and the response
was phenomal from our rapcapital fans, we also note you had him on Hate Money Part 4 .... We stick to real hiphop features and music and it seems you do the same. We tip our hat to anyone that preserves hiphop...but finally heres the question...why do you do it? why not make a mix cd with the same playlists almost every Hiphop station in America plays...that's what most dj's do to make a quick buck....why not you?

DJ Bedtyme: The recipe is already there and a small few are okay with that existing recipe, but there are a large number of people who seek a different kind of seasoning. I provide a couple different ingredients (the unsigned/underground artists) for the recipe that allow you to eat at the same restaurant, but order from a different menu.

RapCapital: In closing we want to thank you for the interview and we want to leave this open
for you to throw in any plugs or useful information for fans to check you out...

DJ Bedtyme: It's nothing and I appreciate rapcapital for taking the time to conduct the interview. Real quick, I want to plug my iTUNES radio show (Hate Money Radio) that airs every Friday 9-11pm and re-airs every Sunday 11pm-1am, my management team (INASIRKL MUSIC GROUP, Jhatch & Drawz), the Queen of NY (Remy Ma), Good Guy, Team Westward (James, Ariel (the BEST Engineer in the business), Julie & City), ALLISONE Ent. (Reality & Chalant), Chuck Mass & 8ight (PFR), the members of Project Co-Sign, DWI & Kim B (Next Up Radio 91.9 FM) and the whole unsigned/underground community.
